Former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti refused to carry the Indian flag. Mehbooba Mufti did not wear the Indian tricolor at the press conference, which shocked the Indian media.
Mehbooba Mufti, head of the People’s Democratic Party, said that until the national flag of Kashmir was restored, the Indian tricolor would not be accepted. Only the Indian flag will not be accepted.
He said that the dacoits had snatched the national flag of Kashmir and that the connection with the tricolor was based on the national flag of occupied Kashmir, which had been broken by the repeal of Article 370.
Both flags were flown there before the end of the special status of Occupied Kashmir, but after the repeal of Article 370, India removed the Kashmir flag from government buildings.
The national flag of Kashmir was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on June 7, 1952.
